Location: South San Francisco, CA - Onsite Role

Job Summary:

As a senior-level molecular/cellular biologist, you will help us disrupt biologics protein and virus vector production. We seek an experienced independent molecular/cellular biologist or virologist motivated to develop our technology further toward full commercialization. This role is a leadership bench position located in South San Francisco. Flexibility regarding working hours and potential travel is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Host cell line engineering.
• Vector design and construction.
• Transfection, mammalian cell culture, cloning and screening
• Flow cytometry, PCR, and other related molecular and cellular biology techniques
• Develop and perform protein assays to screen and analyze transfected cells for product characterization and quality.
• Perform lab work and supervise mid-level scientists.
• Collaborate with co-workers and with external partners.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in a related field or equivalent experience (5+ years)
• Experience with mammalian cell line engineering, preferably for one or more pharmaceutical companies.
• Mammalian cell culture expertise.
• Experience with general molecular biology techniques for designing and constructing vectors, transfecting mammalian cells, and evaluating cell genetics.
• Experience working in a leadership capacity

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with flow cytometry and photomicroscopy.
• Experience with transposase transfection methods.
• Experience in virology.
• Experience with cell banking.
• Knowledge of the regulatory environment for creating and testing cells destined for GMP manufacturing.
• Experience with client-facing presentations
• Project management experience
